[Today was just not a good day for Spike. After getting off the pokegear to everypony, Spike's Trapinch was really, really unimpressed. And Spike knew it. And now he knew how sharp those teeth were. The Trapinch had chased him up a tree, and then sat waiting for him to come down. There had seemed to be a gleam of...something...in its beady eyes that Spike did not like. And of course, the tree had been 'occupied'.]

[By a weird looking bluish tree nut thing.]

[Let's just say Spike also found out what 'Selfdestruct' does. On the upside, he 'caught' his first pokemon. It wasn't a moment he really wanted to remember.]

[The feed clicks on to an extremely disheveled and unhappy Spike - his hair has leaves and twigs in it, one eyebrow is gone, and he has a cut on his cheek which is bleeding lightly.]

Princess Cadence? I really hope you can hear me. It's Spike. Twilight said we're close by to each other and that she's coming to pick us up.

[An annoyed 'TRAAAAAAAAAA' can be heard in the background, and Spike visibly flinches.]

Where are you, and I'll come find you? [If he can ever get out of this Celestia-forsaken tree...]

[The Dragonite Spike is now looking very awkward and fidgety. He doesn't mean to make you feel inadequate, bro!]

Spike. He could be a hundred feet tall and capable of circling the globe in five minutes, and he still wouldn't be a replacement for you. It's not what you can do.

[She lifts his face up with her hand under his chin.]

[Spike sniffs a little as he looks up at Twilight, and then over at Cadence]

[She shakes her head emphatically and gives him a bright, warm smile.]

Never. Do you have any idea how happy I was when I heard your voice on the gear?

(As she speaks, Cadence also gives Spike a warm smile.)

[Spike turns to give Cadence a hug too. Then he turns to the other Spike, looking down and kicking the ground a little, unsure of what to say.]

Um...I'm the other Spike. The first Spike. [Spike emphasises first, to makes sure that this Spike knows that he was there with Twilight before they were sent here.]

[The Dragonite just grins and waves a hand at him, the epitome of chill. Nice to meetcha, name-bro.]

Well, now that we've got that out of the way... [Twilight grins, thinking of something that will almost certainly push the jealousy out of Spike's mind, at least for a little while.] Who wants to go flying?

I'd love to go flying!

(Who doesn't want ride a dragon through the skies? Especially one who looks as huggable as Twilight's Dragonite.)

...But would it be okay if I took a quick look through the bushes first? Spike's Pokemon got a little cranky and I want to check if any other Pokemon got hurt.

[Spike looks a little more dubious about flying.]

He's not going to drop us or anything?

[Spike flinches when he remembers his pokemon.]

Yeah...I guess I should find him. Although leaving him here would be a good idea too.

Hey, Trapinchy thingy? Where are you?

[Spike's Trapinch comes charging out of the undergrowth at Spike, mouth wide and teeth looking...sharp. Even the large Dragonite next to Spike doesn't phase him. Spike yelps and chucks the pokeball Trapinch came in at it in reflex. Trapinch is sucked into the ball, and Spike gives a sigh of relief.]
