3rd Sapphire Cupcake: [Video / Action for Cianwood]

[The feed clicks on to Spike looking cheerful but a little dubious. He's sitting on an already made-bed, surrounded by four large eggs. Luckily his Trapinch is off destroying something else in another room, and his Pineco seemed content to stay sleeping on the window sill.]

Hi, it's Spike here, your friendly neighbourhood dragon.

So, everypony is out working or training right now, and I'm stuck here looking after these eggs.

[Yep, Spike may have gone a little overboard with his egg collecting. So being back at the inn 'egg-sitting' is his own fault really.]

Does anypony know exactly how to look after these guys? [He rubs an imaginary dirt mark off one with the edge of the blanket]

I mean, I'm not supposed to sit on them or anything, right? Coz that would be way too weird.... And Fluttershy went home before I came, so I can't ask her.

[He looks a little concerned now]

If anypony can give me any advice on what I'm supposed to do to hatch eggs, that would be great.

I am! There are not very many of us here, you are the first other dragon I've met.

[And he's definitely a lot nicer than those dragons!]

What is your name? I am Temeraire.

[Spike gives Temeraire a huge grin]

Really? There are a lot of dragons where I'm from ...but they're not very nice...

I'm Spike! Nice to meet you Temeraire.

[Spike studies Temeraire for a moment.]

Are you a big dragon? [Spike is going by how humans seem to look in this place.]

There are a lot of dragons where I am from too, I meant that there don't seem to be any others here in this world. Other than the Pokemon, of course.

It is very nice to meet you too, Spike. I am glad you are not like those other dragons from your world.

[He grins back.]

I am some eighteen tons, which is bigger than most everyone at my covert. [He doesn't mean to brag, Laurence wouldn't approve of him bragging, but he can't help looking proud of this; size is a big part of rank back where he's from.]

Huh me too! They were all bullies. I'm glad I have my pony friends.

[Spike is impressed - it sounds like Temeraire is an adult dragon. All the adult dragons Spike had met were always finicky and grumpy...and more often than not angry about something like Spike taking a tiny little gem to eat because he was hungry...

Wow! So...you're an adult dragon? [Spike refrains from using the word old.]

Do you have heaps of treasure and sit in a cave and eat gems all day? That's what most of the adult dragons do where I'm from. And they're always so grumpy. I mean, you take one little gem, not even knowing that it belongs to another dragon, and suddenly you're running for your life.

[Temeraire is a bit confused by 'pony friends'. Ponies are like small horse, aren't they? Whyever would someone want to be friends with a horse? But he decides not to say anything about that just yet.]

Well, yes, I have reached my full growth. But I am not very old yet, not like some of the others. [He shifts, a little bit self conscious. And then tilts his head at what Spike says next.]

I don't know why I should want to do that, it sounds very boring. Even if it would be nice to have so many treasures...but I do not know why I would ever eat them. [He sounds mildly horrified by the idea of eating treasure, actually.] I am in England's Aerial Corps, which means that I fight in battles...or at least, I did back home. It was very exciting.

[Spike's impressed.]

So how big are you? And how old are you? I'm still only a little dragon...but I'm still really brave and strong!

[He's totally being overconfident to hide his insecurities.]

You mean you never eat gems? [Spike is horrified.]

But they're so tasty! They're my favourite food! I mean, turquoise I can take or leave, but rubies? Rubies are delicious! And so are sapphires! And sapphire cupcakes are amazing!

[A beat]

...not even one little gem?

[Spike is totally sideblinded by the gem thing to comment on the fighting thing at the moment.]

I am nearly a year and a half old, and I think...I would come up to the fourth or fifth story of one of the buildings here.

[Temeraire thinks privately that if he ever has any treasure here, he will be sure to keep a close eye on it when Spike is around.]

If I ate them, then they would be gone, and I wouldn't be able to admire them or show them to anyone...and I never thought they would taste very nice, being made of rock.

What do they taste like? [He'd never eat something so nice as a sapphire or a ruby, but he can't help but be curious.]

[Spike blinks, and then crosses his arms]

Wait a second. How can you be an adult dragon if you're only a year and a half old? I'm way older than that, and I'm only a baby dragon still. [He humphs. Life was so unfair!]

Well...I guess that's true. But oh man...sapphires are so sweet and crunchy...and you can put them in cupcakes...and you can bake jewel cakes using all different kinds...[Spike licks his lips as he thinks about eating gems.]

I suppose dragons must grow much faster in my world than they do in yours. How old are you?

[Curious, curious. He's heard about so many different kinds of dragons while he's been here!]

Oh, I do like cakes! I had never had any of those before I came here either...although I have not seen any with jewels. Jewels must be very common in your world, if you can all afford to bake with them. My captain gave me a breastplate with sapphires and pearls on it, but it cost him a great deal of capitol.

Man I wish that happened in Equestria! I'd be so awesome-looking right now if it did. [He huffs]

I'm a few years old now. I'm not sure exactly how many. Twilight's better at keeping track of that stuff.

[Spike's eyes light up]

Yeah, they're not too hard to find! My friend Rarity can use magic to find them, and then I help her dig them up. She uses them to make clothes, but she gives me some to eat. Personally I think putting them on clothes is a complete waste...
