[The feed clicks on to Spike looking cheerful but a little dubious. He's sitting on an already made-bed, surrounded by four large eggs. Luckily his Trapinch is off destroying something else in another room, and his Pineco seemed content to stay sleeping on the window sill.]

Hi, it's Spike here, your friendly neighbourhood dragon.

So, everypony is out working or training right now, and I'm stuck here looking after these eggs.

[Yep, Spike may have gone a little overboard with his egg collecting. So being back at the inn 'egg-sitting' is his own fault really.]

Does anypony know exactly how to look after these guys? [He rubs an imaginary dirt mark off one with the edge of the blanket]

I mean, I'm not supposed to sit on them or anything, right? Coz that would be way too weird.... And Fluttershy went home before I came, so I can't ask her.

[He looks a little concerned now]

If anypony can give me any advice on what I'm supposed to do to hatch eggs, that would be great.

[Spike never minds, although he's embarrassed that he got caught fawning over his eggs like a mother hen]

Princess Cadence! Um, yeah I think so. They seem pretty easy to take care of. [Spike flips through his notebook.]

Everypony is just saying to keep them warm and to walk around with them. That I can do. I was worried it was going to be something really challenging.

It's not too difficult! You just need a lot of patience; they'll hatch when they're ready and not when you want them to.

I think the biggest challenge will come after they hatch.

I think I'd rather they stay in their eggs if they're anything like Pinchy...

[Spike looks up at Cadence]

That's right, you were Twilight's foalsitter! How did you handle looking after all the colts and fillies? Do you have any advice? I mean, I'm sure I'll be fine, but, you know...

I know you'll be fine and I'll gladly help you along as you need, but in general...

(A moment's thought.)

The important thing to know is when you have to be gentle and when you have to be firm. It's important to care for and love them, of course, but you also have to make sure they behave and listen to you. Don't forget that being responsible for another also means being responsible for their actions.

[Spike nods as he takes notes to help him out in the future.]

[He finishes writing with a flourish.]

Thanks Princess Cadence! Er...what do you do when they misbehave?

[Spike tries not to look over towards the room Pinchy is destroying.]

Me? Well...if I catch them in the act, I try to stop them as soon as possible. Once they're listening to me, I talk to them about how what they're doing is wrong and help them realize that. Once they realize it and are truly sorry for what they did, we can finally move on from that.

(And her thoughts go back to Pinchy...)

...Sadly, it's not as easy with the mean ones. Those are more difficult.

[Spike sighs. It was all well and good with a normal pokemon. He was hoping that Cadence had some miracle answer that could help him out in his situation.]

So, I've got no hope with Pinchy then.

Trust me to get stuck with the difficult one.

I didn't say you have no hope, Spike; I said it's more difficult.

You can work things out with Pinchy; I know you can. You just need to be patient and give it time. He'll come around.

How much time? Because forever is looking promising right now.

Isn't there anything else I can do to get him to at least be a little nicer?

I don't know. What I do know is it's dependent on how much you're willing to try, so don't give up on him.

Be patient with him. You can't expect change to be immediate; just work with him and he'll work with you.

Well…okay Princess Cadence. If you think it works, I’ll work really hard on it to get Pinchy to at least listen to me.

I mean, even Owlowiscious and I came to a kind of understanding…stupid owl….

You’re sure you don’t want to take him?

[Spike already knows the answer will be no, but what the hay.]

He's your responsibility, Spike. Ultimately, he's your Pokemon...
