4th Sapphire Cupcake: [Video / Action for Cianwood] - Backdated to 27 April, early morning

[The feed suddenly clicks on at an ungodly hour of the morning, on a weird angle which shows that it's obviously sitting on the floor and has been accidentally turned on. There are crashes as growling Trapinch dashes past, followed by an annoyed looking Pineco.

The feed shows the two attempting to tackle each other and dodging, hitting furniture and slamming into the walls.

At this point, if anyone is wondering where the heck their owner is, he's dead to the world, snoring on the bed. You can just hear him in the background over the noise these two pokemon are making.

The pair become tangled up in a corner of the blanket which is draped on the floor. Struggling to both get loose, they pull the entire blanket off the bed, dragging three eggs with it.

They hit the ground with a crack and the feed blinds everyone watching with a series brilliant white lights.]

Karp...karp...karp...karp.

Reeeeep, Mareep?

Hor...seaaaaaa.

[The light fades and Spike's three newest pokemon are revealed (well, at least two of them...the Magikarp egg rolled off screen). Spike's Trapinch and Pineco, obviously surprised by this development, immediately start arguing, each blaming the other for what happened.]

What? Who's there?

[Cue their bleary owner, who has finally woken up.]

What the!?! YOU GUYS HATCHED?

[You can see Spike's feet as he hops off the bed, and starts frantically running around the room]

Oh Celestia, whatdoIdowhatdoIdowhatdoIdo???

Okay, stay cool Spike...you can handle this....

Wait, YOU'RE A FISH?!?

[A beat]

Water! I need water!

[Spike's legs race past into the bathroom, and you can hear the water being turned on in the bathtub as he dumps his Magikarp into it.]

A couple of my pokemon are. Solomon likes to badmouth towards other pokemon and Trixie likes to impersonate as me too make me look foolish.

[There's also Mayu's Mamoswine but it's best not to talk about that...]

A computer. [She wasn't too surprised at the boy's lack of knowledge of the technology since she wasn't really aware of it herself until she came here.] Its like a box that runs on electricity. People would keep their pokemon in there when they can't carry anymore around with them.

[Spike waves one hand]

Pshaaaw. These guys (pokemon in general) definitely aren't boring. Difficult to handle, yes. I want to see what they hatch as. Are you a breeder too?

[Spike huffs]
Let's just say, owls and I don't get along so well.

I heard they're a dragon when they grow up! [He pauses and looks back towards the bathroom.]

Although how a fish turns into a dragon, I have no idea. How does that even work?

[Spike blinks]

Flops...to...

[He starts laughing at the image in his mind]

That would be HILARIOUS! I'd have to call him Magi-CAN'T.

[Spike grins widely. This place was great! All the dragons here are so friendly! Big change from Equestria.]

I've never heard of a Digimon before. But that's great! We're both dragons! [Spike is excited to be amongst so many of his own kind.]

I met another dragon here too - his name is Temeraire. He's a big adult dragon, but really nice not like the dragons at home...

Wow I'm glad to hear that. I thought I was the only one! My Trapinch...well...you probably saw what he's like.

[Spike shoots another glare over at his Trapinch, who is studiously ignoring him. He sighs and turns back to the screen.]

Oh! I saw something like that in the PokeCenter. But is seems kind of small to hold pokemon in them, even if they are in pokeballs...

[Spike didn't have a chance to decline Rarity's offer before the feed cut off. The next morning, as Rarity enters the room, Spike looks like he hasn't slept much. The room is far tidier than it had been the night before though. He's sitting on the bed, brushing his Mareep's wool. Small sparks shoot off of it, occasionally zapping him, but his Mareep looks more than happy.]

Oh Rarity! [Yawn and then blinks as he registers what Rarity is holding.] You...made this for me? [He's totally bewildered.]

[Zap]

Ouch!

[Okay, yeah, now he's thinking about it, that totally is a hilarious mental image. Jack starts laughing, too.]

Anyway, yeah, a fishdragon. So careful you don't make it too mad when it's still small.

[Okay, so he's not sure that matters, but the other kid with the Magikarp had said it, and Jack's enough of a brat to repeat it just for fun.]

["Big adult" anything doesn't instill much hope in Dorumon, either, so it's nice to have confirmation from someone. Temeraire: probably a name that can be trusted. Noted.]

What about the dragon Pokemon? Have you met any of those?

[ The buttered toast, fried eggs, and fruit salad is a little sparse by Rarity's standards, but it will have to do. ] Well, you need all of the energy you can get if you're going to be looking after this unruly bunch. I find a good breakfast to start the day helps me take absolutely anything Sweetie Belle or her friends can throw at me.

[ She sets the tray down next to the bed and removes one item from it, a mug of hot coffee which she sips. Observes the bags under his eyes. ] My goodness, did you get any sleep last night?

Well, I'll admit that usually I'd recommend you sleep in a bit more, but under the circumstances, I don't think that's going to be possible. These little ones do need to be watched over, after all, and it's important that they spend time bonding with you. If one of us took over, we run the risk of them thinking we're their trainer instead of you.

[Spike is still laughing, and he covers his mouth, trying to muffle it while he talks]

Yeah...yeah I'll be careful...wouldn't want it...to flop me to death...

...Fishdragon...

[Spike collapses back into laughter. After a few moments, he's able to pull himself back together.]

At least he seems pretty happy at the moment. I'll have to think of a name for him.

Speaking of names, I'm Spike!

[In all the confusion, he forgot to introduce himself]

Yeah! Twilight has one - a dragonite? And she gave him my name.

He's pretty big. He lets Twilight fly around on him. And Rainbow Dash has a Charizard. Dragon pokemon here look so different from dragons in Equestria.

What about where you're from? Are there lots of Digimon dragons?

[Spike sighs, knowing that he won't win this argument.]

I guess you're right. So how do I bond with them?

What am I supposed to even do with them all? I mean, I have this breeder manual, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to work... How do you get them to make eggs anyway?

[Spike yawns again and looks around at his small horde of pokemon playing in various areas around the room.]

Yeah, they're really energetic. Even I'm having trouble keeping up with them! Well, except Raspberry...because he can't really go far...

[Spike breathes in deeply as Rarity puts the tray down]

Wow this looks great! Thanks Rarity!

[Spike proceeds to start scoffing himself with breakfast, speaking in between bites]

Twilight made me stay up all night - you know what she's like. She said I had to bond with them or they'd think that you guys were their trainers.

I don't think they're too picky about names. [Honestly, most of the pokemon seemed pretty okay with whatever people came up with to call them.]

But I'm Jack. Nice to meet you, Spike.

There are. I haven't met many, though. [Where "met" doesn't include "was nearly killed by".] There are a lot of different kinds.

Huh? No, I'm not a breeder, just a regular trainer. However, this breeding thing seems like something many people around do. What's it like? Do you, uh, force your Pokemon to make babies all the time?

[Shinji starts mumbling about something and blessed be Arceus for the low volume of his voice as said something is probably details of Pokemon reproduction.]

Not at all. [ She smiles a little to see Spike enjoying it. She made her own breakfast just a little earlier, so it was no trouble to make extra. ]

Did you? Well, that's very grown-up of you, Spike. Twilight's probably right, these little guys will imprint fast as lightning. You need all the time with them you can get in their early days.

[ She finishes off her coffee, nips a piece of fruit from the salad, and approaches the 'mons. ] Now, which one of these is Raspberry?

[Spike blinks. This conversation suddenly got awkward.]

Er...well no. I mean, I'm just starting out...and...oh man I really don't want to think about how they make babies.

I guess they'll....have eggs whenever they want to. I wouldn't force them to do it. It's up to them.

I guess. I'm sure I'll figure out a name for each of them.

Nice to meet you too Jack! Have you been here a long time? I only got here a couple weeks ago. Are any of your friends here?

Wow really?

[A pause]

What do digimon dragon look like? I mean, before you came here, what did you look like? Normally I have purple scales and a green belly, with green spikes along my back. And shorter. But not that much shorter. This place could have at least made me a little taller....

[Spike puffs up a bit at Rarity's praise]

That's me, Spike the grown-up, responsible dragon.

[He looks around at all his baby pokemon]

Hopefully they like me. [Under his breath]Not like Pinchy...

[At Rarity's question, Spike points towards the bathroom.]

I left him in the tub beacuse he's a fish. Everypony says that they are fine out of water but...

Come on, seriously, what kind of fish lives out of water?

I think it's been about a month. Not that long, huh?

A couple of my friends from back home are here, yeah, but I don't think they're nearly as outgoing as your friends. They're back in Cherrygrove.

They all look different. [He tilts his head, trying to picture Spike's original form. It...isn't too far off?]

I'm Dorumon. I have purple and white fur, and claws, and lots of teeth. And, I have an interface on my head - [he pokes his own forehead.] - right here. Except my face isn't all flat like this, of course. [Thinking, thinking. It's hard to come up with things to describe - you tend to take what you look like for granted.]

I was a lot smaller, too. [Not that he's too tall as a human kid; he's like four and a half feet.]

I'm sure you and Pinchy will be able to find some common ground!

Is Raspberry, now? [ She moves into the bathroom to have a look. ] He's very bright! I've just acquired a fish of my own, you know. [ She pulls out a pokeball and tosses it into the tub - Hans the Feebas emerges, and bubbles morosely at Raspberry. He's much duller in contrast to the other fish. ]
